Day 84/365 - Good Morning, Sunshine!

Someone woke up early this morning and drove with me to take his sister to the bus.

Really, he was awake...

The happiness that is pre-6am.

Happy!

See? Happy!

And guess who else was there...

Me! All leaning back, rumpled hair - me, too! (That's A.'s bus in the background, behind EJ, so it's like we're all in the photo...)

But in case this morning's shenanigans don't count...

And the piece de resistance of today's family photos....

Day 83/365 - World Book Day!

Today was a big day for EJ and me. As Shakespeare's 450th birthday, I actually argue that it was a big day for the world. But the world is fickle.

Today was also the third annual World Book Day - the second of which we've been a part. Today, EJ and I handed out free copies of Scott Turow's Presumed Innocent to folks who wouldn't normally think to pick up a book. We both love doing this.

After our book giving excursion, we picked up Miss A. from her bus stop and headed home.

Yes. These are the faces of pure joy on a Wednesday afternoon. Homeward bound!

And then it was a mostly low key rest of the day - as our selfie session will now show:

And this is us all.
Our family.
In today's moment.

Day 82/365 - Today Has Been a Day

EJ's first trip of the year to the [local] playground today. Lots of fun.

And look who else was there:

Did I mention the tons of fun?

And that bouncy motorcycle thingy?
This is what happens when I try to do a selfie with him while he's playing on it:

I'm pretty sure I got socked in the nose during all that.

Lots of fun, though, meant that someone did NOT want to leave the playground.

And that was the turning point of today - making the rest of the evening interminably long.

L. O. N. G.

I think today is written right across our family photos.

I love this girl. And I'm super proud of her - she woke up smoothly on her own this morning!

And then the monster saw we were taking a photo...

When the thumb came near my mouth, I declared it almost bath time. Ew.

Yup.
Today.

Which brings us here.
To this.
This photo is our evening.
One thousand words.
Right here.

Day 81/365 - Daffodils and Needles?

Today was full. Full of EJ's energy. Full of A. going back to school after a week's break. Full of my errands and commitments.

But there were some peaceful moments, too.

Moments of contemplation.

Moments of quiet.

Moments of laughter and joy.

Daffodil photos of EJ and the premiere of our church's new knitting/crocheting group were the highlights.

A. joined the group as well - and is learning to knit. (That's her, hiding in the left foreground.)

And we were all present today - all of us made an appearance today.

(Yes, it was a quick dinner at Friendly's kind of night.)

Day 80/365 - Happy Easter!

Admittedly, I complained yesterday about having to go to church on Easter morning. I often feel like the kids are hurried through their egg hunting either before church or between church and going to Easter dinner.
But they found all the eggs this morning and we had enough time to turn around halfway to church because we'd forgotten to bring bells.

And, truly, Easter morning service is one of my favorites. Lots of "alleluia"s which means lots of random bell ringing - that's what our church does on Easter Sunday. We celebrate the return of the alleluias.

And I love the Easter dressing up.
A. has always done the Easter dress thing - and I make a point making sure that EJ is dressed nicely, too. Button downs and polos are regular church attire, so Easter demands something a bit more.

Oh yes - he wore a waistcoat today.

And in all, it was a great day.
From sunrise:

All day long:

And you know what?
I was there too!
