Day 175/365 - Monster Jam!
Today, we did Monster Jam - as a family.
Yes. A monster truck rally.
And...
It was fun!
Yes. EJ loves Doritos. Mmm... MSG.
(He wasn't a fan of the sun, though.)
Even A. said she was glad she'd come. And not just because she read on her Kindle during intermission.
We went with a friend and his son - who also had a great time. The telling part of the event - it was the two grown ups excitedly talking about next time as we were leaving.
The only reason we went was because EJ had won 5 tickets from a local radio station doing a wheel spin thing at Hartford's RiverFest a couple of weeks ago. I usually roll my eyes when I chance upon ads for these things. I went to one once as a kid - indoors. It was horrifically loud and I don't think anyone in our family enjoyed it. But these were free tickets, it was outdoors, and EJ loves monster trucks. Grin and bear it.
But this time, it was FUN.
And it was fun for ALL of us. 💕

Day 174/365 - Look Who Waited Up.
When I don't get home from work until after 11:30pm, I'm not expecting much in the way of activity in the house.
Silly me.
EJ opened the door for me as I walked up the path. Apparently, he'd been asking when I was getting home for about 4-5 hours. 💕
So, despite the late hour, I was still able to get our family photo in - with two awake kiddos.
And in just that short time, all my anxiety over everything has poofed away!

Day 173/365 - Faking It.
Cuz sometimes I'm overtired and stressed out by someone thinking tongues should feature prominently in family photos.

Day 171/365 - The Day I Nearly Died By Egg.
This morning I inhaled a tiny piece of my breakfast - which lead to horrible fits of coughing and made me sick for a good part of the day.
Don't worry. I've mocked myself for this near death experience enough today.
After coming home from work, I had quiet rest time and managed to eat dinner with my family. I did not aspirate any of that meal. I was proud.
And then we had family time.
And picked a zucchini from the garden for tomorrow's dinner.

Day 170/365 - Life's a Beach!
At least, it can be when you're at one.
Of course, I misplaced all photographing paraphernalia while we were there - and only thought to borrow a phone while we were having a late lunch at the snack shack.
So, I bring you ridiculous photos from the snack shack!
(He's holding his imaginary friend.)
And even more difficult when someone announces the need to also be in their photo:
And then, this happened:
"Mama, take a photo like THIS!"
Scene.

Day 169/365 - Days Off Are Exhausting
I get it. I complain about being exhausted when I get home from work. But seriously - days off are so much more exhausting.
Today we spent the day at the amusement park.
A. brought a friend:
And these are the best shots I got of them. They had fun, though. (At least, that's what they tell me. 13yos are hard to read.)
And we met up with friends, too!
I didn't actually take that many photos - shocking, yes, but I enjoyed living in the moment. Our friend did capture this shot of EJ and I in the wave pool:
And after a huge day of fun...
We returned tonight for a team member night!
A. was my guest.
No photos were taken of that combo.
But another friend, Molly, made sure we got our family photo.
And now, as I finish up this entry, I have a little visitor, all showered and sand-free:
